The key message from this video:

And so rather than struggling at work being bored. Feeling that we hate the work. Maybe it’s looking for a colleague, maybe if you’re a bit older, thinking about a younger member of staff, they would like nothing better to do some of the things so that you could be more of a mentor to them. So that’s my message as I stroll through the wood.

Hi, It’s Denise I’ve spent much of the day in the wood, and it’s been two weeks since I was here. There’s just so many mushrooms and I’ve done a separate video all about them. What I wanted to do was just chat as I walk along the path.

Because what I love is fallen leaves, and I love being a child and jumping through, and kicking and stuff, but I also like the way that it’s all part of nature. So, we watch the seasons. As the leaves come and change colour, go from green to red, brown, and fall off. And it’s all circle of life stuff because the leaves, eventually turn to compost, to soil, and provide growth for the new trees that are coming through.

And I think sometimes we need to think about changes that happen in our lives and the work that we do and how it’s all part of what should be, things we enjoy.

What I really wanted to say was that sometimes things at work we used to enjoy doing, we no longer enjoy doing it now. It no longer makes us happy, provides meaning, but that’s okay because for somebody else it will be exactly what they want.

It’s just thinking that sometimes, you know, it’s the end of the time, it’s time to move on.

So maybe if you’re less than happy in the work that you do, it’s time to think about what of the work, could you give to somebody else.

How can you make changes that will make it more fulfilling for you?

And if it’s really time to move on. Then take some time to get to know yourself. You can often do that by walking in the woods, and just giving your brain a chance to work on things behind the scene or it could be that you need to work with somebody like me to help you understand more about who you are, what you want to do and what could be a fulfilling career.

A walk in the wood can give you a moment just to stop and think about, are you happy? And if not, what can you do to make changes.

That’s my message. Think about your work, think about what makes you happy.  If there are things that don’t make you happy, can you change, can you give them somebody else, but given to somebody else as a positive for them, not just that you want to get rid of the dross.

And if you need help you may want to get in touch with someone like me.
