"It was a delight to work alongside Dr Denise Taylor on our recent national Friendship Month campaign to promote the benefits of friendship groups in later life. Her professional knowledge enabled us to provide expert advice and support to those who may be struggling with social confidence as they move through significant life stages. I also really enjoyed our joint broadcast interviews. She has a very human approach to explaining situations and provides really practical and helpful advice. We look forward to working with Denise again in the future."

"Denise kindly agreed to participate as our guest speaker in a client event we recently hosted, where she delivered a talk focused on how to make a successful transition to retirement and encouraging our audience to consider what 'legacy' they'd like to leave behind. Many found it inspiring and thought-provoking, and Denise helpfully produced a handout with various prompts to get people thinking intentionally about retirement beyond the financial planning piece. Denise's background as a retirement coach, chartered psychologist and author, coupled with her own personal experiences of life after 60, meant she was perfectly positioned to speak on this subject."

Citygate Financial Planning
Dr. Denise Taylor spoke at a client event for a small firm of independent financial advisers in London.
The event’s theme centred on leaving a legacy and making an impact. Dr. Taylor’s presentation focused on transitions and embracing change, particularly in the context of retirement.
She addressed the non-financial aspects of retirement planning, including potential challenges like loss of identity and purpose.
The talk was tailored for an audience of business owners, lawyers, and city professionals, typically in their mid-50s. Dr. Taylor shared insights from her research and personal experience, offering guidance on intentional retirement planning beyond financial considerations.
The Oddfellows Friendly Society
Dr. Denise Taylor presented on the importance of taking a “Friendship MOT” at the Oddfellows’ March Weekend Seminar 2024.
The talk explored factors that make people vulnerable to losing social connections in later life, emphasized the importance of friendships for overall health and well-being, and introduced the Friendship MOT tool. Dr. Taylor discussed five key questions for assessing one’s social relationships, covering shared interests, problem-sharing, joy, community involvement, and making new friends.
The presentation aimed to empower attendees to understand and support others’ social needs, highlighting the significant impact of their work in fostering friendships and community connections.
LinkAge Post-Retirement Opportunities Project
Dr. Denise delivered two workshops in early 2019 – ‘Planning for Retirement’ and ‘Find Work at 50+’ – for participants in Bristol charity LinkAge Network’s Post-Retirement Opportunities project.
“Denise is an extremely engaging speaker, and effectively handled a diverse audience. The presentations were very informative, and she was happy to share the slides with the group following a request from a workshop participant. We received excellent feedback from participants, who particularly appreciated Denise’s positive attitude, and the inspirational and thought-provoking content of her presentations.”
