.. and how you can try it

And here is the video where I talk about this:

This morning, after a gym session, I found myself in a familiar kind of conversation, one that starts in passing but gets you thinking.

A man in the sauna was talking about how he’d used AI to create a personalised gym programme. He didn’t see the need for a personal trainer anymore. I mentioned that I’d recently gone back to working with a PT, because while AI might know what exercises to suggest, it can’t spot when your form is off or your muscles aren’t really engaging. That kind of feedback requires a real person, present and paying attention.

We got talking more broadly about AI. He works for a startup that’s just had major investment in proprietary AI software, so he was enthusiastic. And I get it, AI is changing everything, from gym plans to therapy sessions.

But here’s my take on how we can use AI.

As a psychologist and coach, I know that what’s not said is often just as important as what is. The subtle cues. The body language. The hesitation. The sigh. AI doesn’t catch those. It doesn’t intuit where to dig deeper, or which follow-up question might unlock something powerful.

That’s what got me thinking about interview coaching.

Yes, AI can generate competency-based questions, help draft a LinkedIn profile, and even mimic interview scenarios. It’s a brilliant tool, if you know how to use it well. But it can’t give you tailored, in-the-moment feedback. It can’t say: “Let’s work on how you’re telling that story,” or “That answer was good, but let’s strengthen it for impact.” It can’t coach your tone, your body language, or how you respond under pressure.

So, here’s what I’m trialling.

I’m opening up 5 one-off coaching sessions at a special rate. If you’ve got an interview coming up, or just want to be prepared when the next one comes—you’ll:

  • Get guided instructions on how to use AI to generate tailored interview prep based on a real job you’re applying for
  • Then we’ll meet for a 1:1 coaching session (via Zoom) to refine, rehearse, and improve your performance: live
  • As a bonus, I’ll also show you how to use AI to create a compelling cover letter and post-interview follow-up message
  • And you’ll get a recording of the session so you can watch it back and review exactly what to work on

I’m not yet sure if I’ll add it to my services. But for the next 10 days, I’m making it available to test the format. You can schedule the actual coaching session any time before the end of July.

Want in?

If so, here’s the link to book and pay. Once you’ve booked, I’ll be in touch to explain the next steps: you’ll send me a job description, and I’ll walk you through how to get the most from AI before we meet.

You are getting this even lower than my general interview coaching service and a significant saving on my bespoke service.

It could be useful for you, a friend or relative.

AI can do a lot, but it still takes a human to bring out your best.
